Ø Sri Kodati Venugopal, DHSO,
Mahabubnagar District has informed that Oil palm cultivation is undergoing a
significant expansion in the Mahabubnagar district as part of Telangana's
broader strategy to diversify crops and reduce reliance on edible oil imports.
Ø Based on the 2020 ICAR-Indian Institute of Oil
Palm Research (IIOPR) report, Telangana has substantial oil palm potential,
with over 436,000 hectares identified across several districts.
Ø Out of which Oil palm Potential area
identified by technical team of IIOPR in Mahabubnagar district was 5,000 acres.
Ø As on 26 th January 2026, an area of
4,600 acres was covered in Mahabubnagar district covering 91% of potential area
identified.
Ø Under the administration of Sri Kodati
Venugopal, DHSO, Mahabubnagar District, this district is actively promoting oil
palm cultivation, targeting thousands of acres to increase local edible oil
production under the National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm (NMEO-OP)

Commendation Certificate on the occasion of 76 th Republic Day celebrations in
2025 26 th January 2025.
Ø On this occasion Collector &
District Magistrate has awarded this commendation certificate to Sri Kodati
Venugopal, DHSO on 26.1.2025 at Police Parade grounds, Mahbubnagar.

Ø It was celebrated in
Mahabubnagar, in Amistapur, Bhootpur municipality, from 28.11.2024 to
30.11.2024.
Ø A three-day "Rythu Panduga" (Farmers'
Festival) refers to large-scale celebrations held in late November 2024 to mark
the Telangana Government's achievements for farmers, featuring exhibitions,
public meetings.
Ø Under the leadership of Hon’ble
Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture and Allied departments, highlighting
schemes like Rythu Bandhu (now Rythu Bharosa), loan waivers, and other
farmer welfare programs, attended by Hon’ble Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and
other dignitaries.
Ø Kodati Venugopal, as District
Horticulture & Sericulture Officer, Mahabubnagar has paid a crucial role in
success of this show.
Ø He was active in taking
following roles.
1. Prior to commencement itself,
he started working hard for Arrangements
for 24X7 Telangana Horticulture & Sericulture Departmental stall Showcasing Horticulture wealth of erst while Mahabubnagar
district.
2. The stall displayed various horticultural
products, technologies, and specimens, including the Telangana Micro Irrigation
Project (TGMIP), National mission on Edible Oils- Oil palm (NMEO-OP) and
Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) etc.
3. Floral Displays: He innovatively planned
and executed stunning arrangements, orchids, roses, and exotic cut
flowers.
4.
He paid special attention in getting and showcasing
Varieties: Exhibitions feature a vast array of produce, including exotic
fruits, rare vegetables, and local specialties, such as mangoes, oranges,
dragon fruit, and various gourds.
5.
With the support and ideas of District
Collector he has displayed technological Demonstrations like micro irrigation, rose and
marigold demonstration plots in central dome of the show.
6.
He
was replacing specimen every day with fresh ones, which attracted more farmers,
VIPs, VVIPS, Ministers, MLAS, IAS & IPS officers and also resulted in having reported massive, record-breaking crowds.
7.
District
Collector, Mahabubnagar has honoured and felicitated Sri K. Venugopal, District
Horticulture & Sericulture Officer on 5.12.20252, for rendering excellent
services and making Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu (People's
Governance Victory Celebrations) -Rythupanduga in Mahabubnagar.
